Kilchurn Wines is Australia's premier sparkling wine contract facility, specialising in crafting traditional method sparkling wines. We do not market or sell our own wine, our sole focus is on making the best wine for our clients.
Based in the cool climate Macedon Ranges wine region, approximately 50 minutes from Melbourne, Kilchurn Wines uses a blend of old world and new world winemaking to craft high quality sparkling wines ranging from delicate blends of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier to spicy sparkling Shiraz.
Kilchurn Wines has been Organically Certified since 2000.

DAVID COWBURN
Managing Director
Our Managing Director started Kilchurn Wines in 2000, Having completed a bachelor of food technology and biotechnology he then followed up with Applied Wine Science degree at Charles Sturt University, his Passion for sparkling Wine was solidified after completing a number of vintages in Australia and Champagne.
David’s passion and focus of Sparkling wine created the idea of establishing a winery that specialises in providing the technical resources required to create exceptional wines
His moto of ‘all wineries great and small’ has seen the business do just that, from the farmers down the road to large international wineries his philosophy never changes, Kilchurn wines wants to create the best wine possible for everyone to enjoy.

MELISSA NEWMAN
Senior Winemaker
At the helm of our winemaking team, is Senior Winemaker Melissa Newman. Joining the Kilchurn Wines family in 2024, Melissa oversees all winery operations.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Winemaking and Viticulture from La Trobe University. Prior to joining Kilchurn, Melissa worked in winemaking regions throughout Australia including Geelong, Yarra Valley, Pyrenees and Barossa Valley.
She has also spent vintages in France, Canada, California, and England.
Her philosophy towards winemaking is simple yet comprehensive, wanting to ensure that she maximises the grape’s potential to produce a wine that exceeds the expectation of the drinker.

PATRICK GARDNER
Production Manager
Patrick has been in the wine industry for the last 20 years, having started with running Portavin’s mobile bottling crew he worked his way along looking after customer sales, accounts and then becoming the Sanector’s National Sales Advisor.
Patrick joined the Kilchurn team in 2022 and is the integral force behind daily operations, looking after all clients’ requirements and ensuring efficient streamline production needs are met
